Held annually in Grugliasco, Italy and organised by the Scuola di Cirko Vertigo, Festival Sul Fil del Circo runs a yearly competition for young artists alongside a programme of professional companies.
For 2012 young companies with 2-5 members are invited to apply for the competition. Following selection, eight will be invited to perform at Sul Fil del Circo 3 & 4 August 2012 in front of an audience of 400 people and an expert jury, with the winning group receiving a prize of 2000 Euros plus a booking for the 2013 edition of the festival with a fee of 3000 Euros.
Groups selected for the competition can either present early-stage new work or existing material, whether complete or extracted – but pieces should be no longer than 15 minutes. There's no payment for participation, but groups will be reimbursed 75% of their travel expenses with a cap of 200 Euros for national companies and 400 Euros for international ones. The festival can provide accommodation and food for a maximum of two nights.
